A Letter from the Owner of Laser Flash
Updated March 16, 2020
On Friday, March 13th, Laser Flash temporarily closed to the public as a Coronavirus precaution.
Official recommendations are constantly evolving. Some are advocating banning gatherings of more than 50 people for the next eight weeks.
I do not foresee reopening Laser Flash before the end of the month. However, the advantage of being a small business is we can change quickly if conditions warrant.
Last Friday I contacted all of my vendors asking if I can postpone paying my bills until after Laser Flash reopens. Most agreed which minimized the amount I had to borrow to pay my employees this week.
I wish to publicly thank the companies which readily agreed to postpone billing without penalty: Shaffer Distributing, Nelson Alarm, Money Mailer, Ray’s Trash Service, Mister Ice of Indianapolis, Spectrum, and Orkin. Still waiting to hear from some others. I see Duke Energy has posted on their website they will not disconnect during this emergency but they did not mention late fees. Spectrum specifically mentions on their website no disconnect and no late fees for businesses impacted by the Coronavirus.
I will contact each group which has a reservation in the coming two weeks. Deposits on those reservations can be moved when it is rescheduled, or put onto a gift card, or refunded. Please contact me about the specifics of your reservation.

I am writing to you not as Laser Flash the corporation, rather as an individual who is taking personal responsibility for a decision which will impact many people.
Laser Flash will temporarily close to the public effective immediately.
I hesitated to make this decision because I did not want to inconvenience families who were planning celebrations at Laser Flash. I also believe there is value in providing the community a positive outlet such as Laser Flash during a time of stress.
I do not know how effective “social distancing” will be in disrupting the spread of the virus.
Yet I decided to take the lead among local entertainment centers and be the first to suspend our hours for two reasons. First, people could be ill and infectious 10 to 14 days before they exhibit symptoms. Second, I did not want to circumvent the intentions of school closures by being a gathering place for families.
I will re-evaluate the changing situation each day and decide when it is prudent to reopen. This closure will be at least through Monday, March 16th. Check back for details on our website.
If you have a Laser Flash recurring membership, the auto-renewals are being turned off after today. When we reopen, the number of days of our closure will be automatically added back to all memberships and Flash Passes which are active today.
This will be difficult for my employees and for me and my family. These are difficulties which are being shared by many of you.
I urge you to look after your family and your neighbors.
Do not take more than you need.
Do not panic.
Pray for our nation and the world.
