Major Changes Await Customers When They Come to Play
Carmel, June 8, 2020 – Laser Flash, which has been providing family fun and entertainment to central Indiana since 2002, will have a Grand Reopening on Thursday, June 18th after a 3 month closure. On March 13 th , Laser Flash was the first community entertainment center in central Indiana to close in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I’m super excited,” exclaimed Laser Flash cast member Robert Sanchez when informed of the schedule to train and prepare to welcome guests back to Laser Flash. “Our cast members are close friends”, explained owner Peter Murphy. “We miss being together and bringing smiles to our customers.”
Laser Flash has been busy preparing for the Grand Reopening by replacing carpeting throughout the entire center, installing a second round up upgrades to the electronics in both the laser tag arena and all 42 laser tag vests, and adding new and exciting laser tag game formats. “I’m sure our guests will be equally excited when they experience these new games,” predicted Murphy.
In addition to the many obvious changes, Laser Flash has used the down time for some deep cleaning and several small repairs. Lasertron, the supplier of the laser tag system at Laser Flash, has even added many new features to the point-of-sale system during the past three months.
Prior to opening to the general public, Laser Flash will offer free laser tag as a “Thank You” Party for families of health care workers, first responders, and teachers and other school employees. This party will run three days from June 14th through June 16th . Then on June 17th , Laser Flash will host “I Missed My Graduation” Party for all 2020 graduates from high school, college, grad school, and trade school. Laser Flash will then welcome the rest of their guests starting on Thursday, June 18th.
These dates are subject to change if Governor Holcomb modifies the Roadmap to Safely Reopen Indiana. As a community entertainment center, Laser Flash is included in Stage 4 of Indiana’s plan. During Stage 4, Laser Flash will operate at 50% capacity with one session of laser tag per hour. Cast members will be screened daily and will wear face shields. Instructional videos prior to each session of laser tag will be shown in the lobby. Laser Flash prefers the term “physical distancing” instead of SOCIAL distancing. Friends, families, and community requires us to be social. Let’s all be EMOTIONALLY close while we remain physically apart.
Laser Flash was started in 2002 when Murphy took a leave of absence from being a senior design engineer at Thomson Consumer Electronics to stay home and raise his 3 young sons while wife Peg was deployed for two years with Operation Enduring Freedom immediately following 9/11. Now a retired Army Colonel, Peg works full-time with her husband in the family business.
Laser Flash is the largest laser tag center in central Indiana with a capacity of 42 players. Sessions are a half hour and consists of multiple games. The center includes a large arcade, a Noble Roman’s pizza kitchen, and serves Pepsi products, beer, and wine.
